Here's what you need to know about "Flakka"

"Flakka" is a recreational drug that is currently on the rise, most popular in the state of Florida and some other states closeby. Flakka is known for its potent effect, that often compared to methamphetamine or cocaine (Ayer, drugabuse.com), but much cheaper and brings users of this substance an extremely harmful influence. Flakka can be orally consumed or injected, brings users extreme euphoria and speed up actions, says Jessica Firger from CBS News. Michael A. Taffe, a professor at Scripps Research Insitute in California, who is currently studying on this new drug, claims that Flakka is often compared to "Bath Salts" (because of their similarities in effects), but Bath Salts are even more powerful than Flakka.

Florida police department and hospitals have received numerous cases related to Flakka use. Most of the time, Flakka users are described as having absurd movements, aggressive behavior and are not capable of responding nor controlling what they are doing. Flakka users when experiencing the Flakka “high” are demonstrated as “zombies” because of the vicious, aggressive, violent characteristics; they also have very little consciousness to respond to others. Extreme cases are murder or assaults. According to the Washington Post, there has been an attack in Florida by a college student named Austin Harrouff, who is believed to have obtained this deadly designer drug. Victims were a couple who have been stabbed to death by the student. What even more horrifying is the fact that Harrouff tried to bite off the face of the victims. Harrouff received murder charges from the judge and is currently serving jail time. (Wootson Jr.). This terrifying event shows the powerful influence on human of Flakka. This drug is also highly addictive and fatal.

Flakka is an example for how a drug can be deadly and is capable of taking over our mind. Drugs when are used incorrectly, can be an absolute devil. Drugs such as Flakka and other cheap, harmful designer drugs are extremely dangerous. They destroy the brain, mind, health, family and finance. They are absolute monsters in our society. Drugs can make people do things that no one can ever imagine. That explains most of the crimes and sins.
